The Extreme History Project – The Story of Us: A History of the Women Who Shaped Montana

The Extreme History Project has received a MHF grant for the creation of a six-minute vignette of Sarah Bickford, a freed slave who rose to prominance in Virginia City by becoming the first woman to own a public utility, the VC Water Company. This will be part of a larger 30-minute documentary featuring Bickford and 3 other Montana women of color. Funds will go towards script development and production costs.
