Roxy Theater – Box Office Restoration

After serving the Missoula community nearly sixty years between 1937 and 1994, the Roxy Theater was destroyed in a fire. Acknowledging the value and pride the Missoula community had in the historic theater, The International Wildlife Film Festival purchased and revitalized the building in 2002. The prized Roxy Theater once again hosts shows and continues to merge history, community, and education.

Despite the successful restoration of the Roxy Theater, the building is still missing an original historical component: the box office—a distinctive marker of artistic value and theater architecture. In 2016, the Montana History Foundation funded the restoration of the Roxy Theater’s extended box office.
