Rotary Club of Glendive – Dawson County Cemetery Chapel

Nestled within the quiet, pensive Dawson County Cemetery is a chapel that has long provided spiritual and emotional refuge for those grieving their loved ones. The cemetery and its iconic chapel date back to the mid-1800s, and it continues to be used by cemetery-goers even today. This cemetery in eastern Montana is the resting place of many of Montana’s first settlers, and it stands as a relic of those early frontier settlement days.

After suffering extensive storm damage in July 2015, the chapel was in need of repair. The Rotary Club of Glendive used MHF funds to fix the roof, close a hole in the interior ceiling, repair cracks in the walls, and replace doors and floor coverings.
