A 2021 grant for the Pine Butte School Preservation Society, Inc. will help to design and install a historically appropriate sign above the door of the 1895 one-room, clapboard schoolhouse. The Pine Butte School was rescued from demolition by alumni, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
