Philipsburg Playhouse Productions – Philipsburg Theater South Wall Renovation

The Philipsburg Theatre was built in 1891 and is the oldest operating theater in Montana. The two-story masonry theatre houses 5 of 6 original Edgar Paxton-painted backdrops. With a MHF grant, the south wall of this significant theater will receive preservation and restoration treatments such as washing, patching, tuck pointing and sealing the original brick, as well as re-painting the theater sign. This is the first project MHF has funded in Granite County.
