Montana History Foundation announces $117,000 in grants

This year’s grants to benefit historic buildings and structures in Western Montana went to the Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell which received $1,750 for trim and architrave restoration.The Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana in Charlo received $5,000 for the Jocko Valley Cabin project while the Plains Woman’s Club was awarded $4,000 to replace the roof on the old log schoolhouse and stabilize the building.Close to $10,000 in grants benefit area collection and artifacts care. The Paradise Elementary School Preservation Committee will be using $5,000 for their “When the Whistle Blew: A Company Town” project. The Ravalli County Museum and Historical Society will use their $4,000 award for a collections care project.The MHF also selected two area programs to receive funding for research, education outreach and oral histories. The Sanders County Community Development Corp. received $750 for the Thompson Falls Community Trail interpretive signs and the Heritage Museum in Libby will be using $5,000 for outdoors signs and interpretive displays.To read the full article, click on the link:  KPAX Grants Article
