The History Museum – Cascade County History Society – Clothing Storage

Cascade County Historical Society’s “The History Museum” is home to many historical textiles—namely, clothing that has historical significance to the North Central Montana region. In the words of staff at The History Museum, “clothing tells a story, whether it be the tale of a rough riding youth or the reserved school teacher.” Clothing reflects the diverse lifestyles and cultures of the people living in Montana, from the Native American indigenous peoples to the myriad of frontier settlers.

The History Museum’s impressive collection of textiles and clothing have not been properly stored due to a lack of boxes and sorting resources. MHF provided funds for new storage boxes, which will allow The History Museum to properly preserve the clothing for future generations of museum-goers.
