Shonkin Community Club – Restoration of Milwaukee Depot Waiting Room Chairs

The Milwaukee Depot in Shonkin was constructed at the same time as the railroad’s North Montana Line in 1913-14. Gradually, service ended. The Shonkin Community Club took over the building and uses it for community events. Funds from MHF will refurbish 20 original waiting room chairs, including repairing and refinishing the wood seat, backs, and arms; reupholstering the chair seats, and repainting the iron legs.
