Paradise Elementary School Preservation Committee – Master Plan

Paradise Elementary School opened in the early 20th century and closed in May, 2013 due to a shortage of students. MHF gave a grant to the Paradise Elementary School Preservation Committee to develop a master plan to use this 106-year-old historic school as a community center and museum. The plan elaborated on ideas for both social/cultural history and natural history exhibits.

The MHF grant helped the committee determine what artifacts and information to collect, how to display them in appropriate ways, and how to use the limited space in the building most efficiently. The Paradise Center, which the museum is a part of, taps into the rich natural and social history of Paradise and provides the town with much-needed economic and cultural vitality.
