Helena City Council – Minute Books Digitization

In 2013, the City of Helena began a project to digitize the City Council Minute Books. Over the course of the last five years, the project has digitized the minute books from years 1881 to 1961, creating roughly 16,000 high quality images that allow the City of Helena to have archival backup of the original one-of-a-kind volumes. These volumes were uploaded onto the Montana Memory Project to provide unlimited access to historians, genealogists, students and other researchers.

With the 2018 grant from MHF, the City of Helena was able to continue the digitization project, making years 1961 to 1969 available online.
