Friends of Makoshika – Final Makoshika State Park Fossil Collection Project

Makoshika State Park is home to many fossils and artifacts that are currently exposed to dust and water damage, left unprotected from visitors, and are unorganized by taxa. In 2019, the History Foundation helped the state park with an initial collections care project. A 2020 grant will fulfill the remainder of that process. Five collection cabinets will be purchased and a paleo tech intern will be hired to organize and store the park’s dinosaur fossils.
