Big Sky Film Institute – Return to the Big Skies: The Story of Miss Montana to Normandy

Big Sky Film Institute (BSFI) is creating a one-hour documentary about the dozens of volunteers that worked to restore the 75-year old WWII C-47 aircraft, the Miss Montana. Following its service in WWII, the aircraft served as a smoke jumper plane which played a pivotal role in the Mann Gulch tragedy. Land-bound since 2001, she was restored to federal standards by volunteers in order to fly to Europe for the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
